Program Activities / Description
A 10-session (2 weeks) residency of immersion in traditional African ceremonial rites and rituals. The students will write a story based on one ritual to which they will learn a dance, song and music. The students choose whose story will be performed. Artist provides authentic costumes and instruments. At least 1 stage rehearsal required before performance. Student self-assessment and critique are encouraged. Performance assessment will be used throughout the residency.
