Guitar Through the Ages This presentation showcases the versatility of guitar as a solo instrument and as an accompanying instrument. It demonstrates guitar styles from the Renaissance to the present beginning with European lute music and progressing though classical guitar music of Spain, Italy and France. Other styles covered include Mexican folk music, jazz, blues, and bluegrass. The artist begins each piece with a brief history of the work, providing information about the composer and expounding on characteristics of the genre. Time is allowed at the end of the presentation for a Q and A and student comments.
