Daniel Arite's music has been featured in venues around the U.S. and broadcast on radio and television. A composer/guitarist/recording artist his influences range from Gregorian chant to folk rock world classical free jazz and beyond. Electro acoustic sounds improvisation chance and a unique approach to multi-tracking contribute to his style. He currently composes and performs as a solo guitarist and in collaboration with poet/performer/collagist Thandiwe Shiphrah (they are known professionally as The Bosch Institute). Their two CDs The Secret Marvelous Instead (2002) and Biting the Peony (2009) feature audio collages created from traditional and experimental poetry electronic and acoustic music found objects and household percussion. Why Not Make Something Up? his experiential music composition workshop has been offered to youth and adults at community organizations throughout Tennessee. His work has also been supported by Meet the Composer Tennessee Arts Commission Jubilation Foundation and an Associate Artist residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
