Carolyn German has been a theater professional for over 35 years having worked as an singer actor director lyricist producer playwright composer and acting teacher. Her performance credits span from Off-Broadway to cruise ships from DC’s Studio Theater to over 25 projects locally with Tennessee Repertory Theater (Val in “A Chorus Line” Maria in “Twelfth Night”). As a solo vocal artist she has performed at NYC’s Milford Plaza and the “American Composers Series” at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. Carolyn worked for 7 years as Supervisor of the Metro Nashville Parks Theater and Music Departments cultivating a Young Performers Program for ages 8 -18. She created and directed 8 vocal-showcase youth cabarets taught numerous youth classes and also directed/produced 7 fully-staged youth productions. Additionally she created a Senior Citizens Acting Class and three ASL-based “Songs Thru Sign” performances with Metro Nashville Parks’ Disabilities Program. German wrote the book and lyrics for “The AirShip at Vapor Station: The SteamPunk Musical”. She was commissioned by the Tennessee Arts Commission and Clement Railroad Museum to write her play "Burden of Justice:1863" which tours schools through Tennessee Performing Arts Center Education and Outreach.
